Case Western Reserve University: STUDENT EMPLOYMENT: Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing (STUDENT) Open Date Oct 19, 2026 Description POSITION OBJECTIVE Working under the supervision of the principal investigator, the Student Research Assistant's responsibilities include assisting with participant recruitment and outreach, eligibility screening, scheduling and reminder calls, maintaining accurate participant tracking records, and supporting data management and analysis. The student will also assist with organizing research data, conducting preliminary analyses, and preparing summary tables under the supervision of the research team. The student will follow established study protocols and confidentiality requirements to support the successful completion of research activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Participant Recruitment and Outreach Assist with participant recruitment and outreach through approved recruitment channels. Communicate study information to potential participants using approved recruitment materials and procedures. (25%) Eligibility Screening and Participant Follow-Up Assist with screening potential participants for study eligibility, conducting follow-up calls, scheduling participant contacts, and sending reminders in accordance with established study protocols. (20%) Participant Communication and Retention Communicate with potential and enrolled participants regarding study participation, survey completion, and follow-up activities. Respond to routine inquiries and refer questions requiring further clarification to the research supervisor. (15%) Data Management and Record Maintenance Maintain accurate participant tracking records and organize research data. Assist with data entry, data quality checks, and identification of missing or inconsistent data in accordance with study protocols and confidentiality requirements. (15%) Data Analysis and Research Support Assist with preliminary data analysis, preparation of descriptive statistics, organization of analytical results, and development of summary tables. Support the research team in preparing research materials and summarizing findings. (15%) Collaboration and Administrative Support Collaborate with the principal investigator and research team to support study implementation, monitor recruitment progress, maintain study documentation, and complete other research-related administrative tasks as assigned. (10%) NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Research and Administrative Assistance Assist with additional research-related tasks, organization of study materials, and other duties as assigned by the principal investigator or research team. (3%) Flexible Work Schedule Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate participant availability and study-related activities. (2%) CONTACTS Department: Daily interaction with the principal investigator, research team members, and other faculty or staff involved in the study. University: Relevant university research and administrative personnel, as needed to support study implementation and research-related activities. External: Potential and enrolled study participants, community partners, and organizations involved in participant recruitment and outreach. Students: Student Research Assistant peers and other student employees, as applicable. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities. The Student Research Assistant will work under the supervision of the principal investigator and research team.

• Hourly Rate: $15.00 per hour, commensurate with expereience and in accordance with Univesity Student Employment guidelines
• Work hours per week: 10 - 20

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Previous research experience is preferred, particularly in participant recruitment, data management, quantitative data analysis, or research involving older adults, family caregivers, or dementia. Experience with statistical software is desirable but not required.

4. Ability to follow research protocols and established procedures.
5. Basic knowledge of research methods and data management.
6. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
7. Ability to assist with participant recruitment, eligibility screening, scheduling, and follow-up.
8. Ability to assist with preliminary data analysis and preparation of summary tables.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive research data.
10. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively with the research team.
11. Strong time-management skills and ability to complete assigned tasks within established deadlines.
12. Interest in aging, dementia caregiving, family caregiving, or related areas of health research is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Part-time research position within the FPB School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. Work will primarily involve participant outreach and communication, research data management, preliminary data analysis, and other research-related activities. Some work may be completed remotely, depending on study needs and supervisor approval. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to accommodate participant availability.
