Full-time / Part-time
Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide clinic-based pediatric therapy, with some school-based caseload opportunities in the mornings and potential school consulting. Therapy sessions involve parents or caregivers so they can learn strategies to support each child's development and carry skills over into the home.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement therapeutic interventions that help children improve functional abilities and daily living skills.
• Support children with autism, developmental delays, and other special needs.
• Work with families and caregivers to reinforce therapeutic strategies at home.
• Monitor and document progress and collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist (OTR) on treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, schools, and other professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and stay current with pediatric therapy best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree or other qualifying degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current COTA licensure in Virginia or West Virginia, or willingness to obtain the required state license(s).
• NBCOT certification.
• At least one year of Occupational Therapy Assistant experience.
• CPR certification and commitment to annual continuing education requirements.
• Strong communication, documentation, organization, and teamwork skills.
• A compassionate, positive approach and a genuine interest in working with early-intervention and school-aged children.
Schedule
Part-time: 15–29 hours per week, primarily afternoons Monday–Thursday (approximately 2:00–5:30 p.m.) and/or Fridays (approximately 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).
Full-time: 30–40 hours per week. Exact hours may vary based on caseload and clinic needs.
Compensation & Benefits
$28–$38 per hour, with benefits that may include 401(k) and employer matching, health, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, continuing education and professional development support, license reimbursement, flexible scheduling, mileage and travel reimbursement, and relocation or tuition assistance.
