Bookkeeper

Location: Montauk, NY

Schedule: Hybrid / Remote

Salary: $75,000–$90,000

We’re working with a well-known hospitality group in Montauk that’s looking for a Bookkeeper to help look after the finances across two properties.

This is a hands-on role and a good fit for someone who likes having a bit of ownership over their work. You’ll be involved in everything from payroll and invoices to reconciliations, reporting and keeping the books in good shape.

The business covers hotel, restaurant, events and retail, so there’s plenty going on and the role will stay varied throughout the year. Hospitality experience is important, especially if you’re used to the pace and seasonality of the industry.

What You’ll Do

• Look after the day-to-day books, including AP, AR, payroll and general ledger
• Keep on top of bank, credit card and merchant reconciliations
• Make sure daily sales and revenue are recorded correctly across the different parts of the business
• Pull together regular P&L and balance sheet reports
• Work with the CPA on tax and year-end items, and help keep invoices and collections moving
• Jump in where needed, sort out any discrepancies and help make the accounting processes run a little more smoothly

About You

• 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in hospitality
• Comfortable handling the full day-to-day accounting function and getting stuck into the detail
• Solid experience with AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and general ledger
• Comfortable with QuickBooks, Bill.com and Excel
• Familiar with hospitality systems like Toast, Resy or other hotel/POS platforms
• Easy to work with, organized and reliable, with a good eye for detail and the ability to work well with both finance and operations
